Warren Ashworth, Publications EDITORIAL Nineteenth Century, editor-in-chief.
NOTES “My particular areas of research, writing and lecturing are American domestic vernacular architecture. In particular I am fascinated with how the invention of balloon framing allowed the romantic house styles to flourish during the nineteenth century. The Victorian house fashions could not have been so exuberant were it not for 2 x 4 stick framing.” “The courses I teach at SUNY and Mohonk were born out of my interest in the early Dutch and English settlements of the Hudson Valley. I focus on the geography and geography of these settlements. I trace their narratives by reading the stories told by the stone houses these pioneers left behind.” | |
